Location:
The start/finish will be directly across the street from Davidson River Campground in Pisgah Forest, NC.
Directions:
From Asheville, North Carolina, take I-40 West to I-26 East to Exit 40 (Airport Road/Asheville Regional Airport), onto State Highway 280. Continue south 15.5 miles on 280 to Pisgah National Forest. Turn right at the intersection of Highway 280/64/276. Go north on 276 for 1 mile.
From Spartanburg, South Carolina, take I-26 West to Exit 40 (Airport Road/Asheville Regional Airport), onto State Highway 280. Continue south 15.5 miles on 280 to Pisgah National Forest. Turn right at the intersection of Highway 280/64/276. Go north on 276 for 1 mile.
From Charlotte, North Carolina, take I-85 South to Gastonia and exit at U.S. Highway 74 West. Merge with I-26 West to Exit 40 (Airport Road/Asheville Regional Airport), onto State Highway 280. Continue south 15.5 miles on 280 to Pisgah National Forest. Turn right at the intersection of Highway 280/64/276. Go north on 276 for 1 mile.
Parking:
There is limited parking at the start/finish area. If you want to park there you must show up early. Please follow the directions of the parking volunteers. Park as close to your neighbor as possible (door opens half way). You will not be at your vehicle for most of the day. Do not take up unnecessary space. Overflow parking will be located at the Pisgah Ranger Station, about 1/2 mile further down Highway 276. If you see the sign saying parking is closed please proceed to the Pisgah Ranger Station.

Please, show up early. No one likes to see a long line. Not you, not us, not the Forest Service.
Raffle tickets:
We will be holding a raffle for Industry Nine Torch hubs and a Kona Snake the Jake frame. All proceeds will go to SORBA. Tickets are 2 for $5. Cash or check only, please. You do not need to be present to win.

Cutoff:
You must reach the third checkpoint before 3PM
Mandatory Gear:
1. Helmet. You must wear your helmet AT ALL TIMES while on the bike.
2. Front White light. You must burn your front light at all times while on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
3. Rear Red light. You must burn your rear light at all times while on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
4. Rain jacket. Bright colors preferred.
Rest Areas:
There will be three rest areas stocked with Threshold Provisions products, PB&J sandwiches, Bananas/Oranges, Gatorade, and sweet/salty snacks. There will be neutral mechanical support and first aid supplies at each rest area. The rest areas will be located at:
1. Mile 21.9 – Intersection of FS5000 and FS5000C
2. Mile 35.3 – Blue Ridge Parkway Mile 408.2
3. Mile 58.0 – Intersection of NC215 and Indian Creek Road
Course Marking:
Each turn will be marked with three pieces of course tape on the side of the road of the turn, within 50 feet of the turn. There will be a confirmation piece of tape after the turn. In addition there will be large orange with black arrow direction signs.
There will also be course tape every three miles on course or beyond each possible wrong turn, whichever comes first.
Drop Bags:
You may send one drop bag to each rest area. Please limit each drop bag to a ONE GALLON ZIPLOCK size (about two large waterbottles)
We will do our best to get the drop bags back to the start/finish in a timely manner but we cannot guarantee a time of their return.
Please note: We do everything we can to prevent dropbag loss, however, we will not be held liable for accidental loss. Please do not put your diamond ring, iPod, or anything that you cannot live without in a drop bag.
Any bags not picked up on race day will be held for 30 days. Contact us if you are unable to pick up your bags on race day. We will arrange return. After 30 days all gear will be donated to the Asheville Trips for Kids thrift shop.
Safety:
ALL ROADS USED IN THE PISGAH MONSTER CROSS CHALLENGE ARE OPEN TO NORMAL TRAFFIC.
Watch for traffic. / Be mindful of your line-of-sight.
Ride on the right and single file whenever possible.
Obey all traffic laws.
Look for and obey hand signals from motorcycle race officials.
Look for and obey traffic control personnel (Transylvania County Sheriffs)
Wear your helmet at all times while on the bike.
Burn your front and rear light at all times while on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Sag Wagon:
You must wait for the sweep rider to arrive at the rest area before the sag wagon will take you back to the start/finish. There will only be one trip back to the start/finish from each rest area.
Finish:
Follow the course tape ribbons to under the Start/Finish arch to ensure your timing chip is read by the timing sensors.
Please check in and have your timing chip read if you are DNF.
